Whether ranter or raver, in general, we do not use words nearly as much these days and I find it fascinating how image driven so many of us are, as highlighted by social media, particularly Instagram.
Whilst I am not unknown to stretch for that emoji key, it is a strange dichotomy that I do not have the patience to spend any time prepping, posing for or editing pictures; but I am happy to spend hours curled up reading, or perfecting that sentence to best reflect my inner-voice whilst leaving no earthly trace in exchange for the time.
Many folks seem to think that Instagram is the final frontier in terms of the extinction of the intelligent human being, but I am less afraid. I have always known that I am a words rather than a visual person, preferring to paint pictures in my imagination using words. I am not threatened by, nor do I throw scorn at the world’s visualisers just because they do it differently to me.
I think for the most part, consumerised humans can be categorised in either one or t’other categories. As a social anthropologist, it can be a lot of fun watching for how folks identify themselves here and observe associated personality traits shine through, it can make Instagram much more interesting for one.
True that 👌👌
