What some of my readers are saying on Amazon:
Miss C M Begg5.0 out of 5 starsCaptivating and exciting read my kids lovedReviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 May 2021I bought this book as I was looking for something new to read with my boys (8 and 10) . They love chapter books and I was getting tired of longer series like Harry Potter or How To Train Your Dragon but wanted something that didn’t rely on fart jokes and YouTube stars to keep their attention. Thankfully the book has an almost timeless quality to it and the kids loved trying to solve the mystery as the book went on. They talked about the chapters long after ‘lights out’ so that can only be a good thing – have admit I thought about it too!

Amazon Customer5.0 out of 5 starsVerified PurchaseMystery is a wonderful thing!Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2020I devoured this book! As an English teacher I’m always looking for books to recommend to my students so I read a lot of children’s fiction. I was hooked from the prologue and couldn’t wait to read on and find out about Insch Brae House! Susan has written a lovely novel with some beautiful touches that made me smile throughout. I’m a sucker for a bit of Scottish dialect and it’s inclusion made me nostalgic for my childhood in the North of Scotland. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep a child engaged (and this 36 year old) and lovely messages and morals woven throughout. I really hope we hear more from Susan and of course the adventures of Muriel!
Mr A D Clark5.0 out of 5 starsVerified PurchaseExcellent read, a real page turner.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2020 We read this book together as a family and thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns that kept us engaged and wanting more. Muriel was an immediately likable character that we could relate to. It would be lovely to imagine she may have other adventures up her sleeve!
