Having 400 emotions could get stressful

What positive emotion do you feel most often?

Never mind trying to identify what positive emotion I feel most often; what emotion defines me full stop?

Current theories suggest that us humans have up to 400 separate emotions to choose from.

I would love to study that list in the way I am intrigued about northern settlers having 400 different words to describe snow. Although, it could get stressful trying to work it all out in real time before the wind changes.

So, the assignment is to land one prevalent positive emotion for specimen A.

Tricky. This took me a few minutes to unravel. I leapt out of bed at 6am on Saturday with a head full of steam to caffeinate, blog, swim, socialise, de-clutter and watch a movie all before 10am. Squeezing in a morning pee as the kettle bubbles, I mentally note many positive emotions!

But today, if I were a superhero, I would be called Determination.

This is the right now, because at present life is good. Balance. Or not.

If anything, I’m probably on a bit of a high.

Which I love!

So, Determination it is.

And obviously this Savage always radiates Joy.

  1. I absolutely love the way your mind works GD and have missed your blog. You are back with a bang. My favourite positive emotion is empathy. Empathy can have such a powerful effect.

  2. Thank you for your lovely words. The gap of not blogging was starting to knaw. Empathy is a great trait as long as you find your own way to offload everyone else’s issues you end up absorbing along the way.
